- Final headcount of 22 Freemans and friends!
If you stayed on campus over Thanksgiving, but you didn’t make it to dinner, you missed out!
Last Wednesday marked the unexpectedly high turn out for the annual Freeman Scholars and Friends Thanksgiving Potluck. The location was changed from the usual Triple A house, but the company was just as heartfelt as ever! With foods ranging from the traditional turkey, potatoes, and cranberry sauce, to beef stir-fry, noodles, and tapioca pearls, the potluck was a truly an international (ha!) feast, and a great chance for busy students to spend quality time together. You may be far away from home, but here you’re never far away from your family.
On November 8th, the Freeman family celebrated our 20th Anniversary by holding a
dinner banquet together.

Soon after the pictures were taken, everyone headed towards Beckham Hall for the dinner to finally begin. After some inspiring and moving remarks from the current FASA co-chair Marianna Ilagan and alumna Tang McConnell, we enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Enharmonics, a children’s choir group lead by alumna Lily Lung. Later, the courses were finally served as people dove into the food and conversations. (But mainly food.)
Following the feast, the Class of 2018 and 2015 each presented their own small skit that described their unique experiences at Wesleyan.
The event ended in laughter and joy as people stood up and prepared to leave, some heading home and others, of course, heading to the after party. That, however, is another story for another time.
Thank you to all the people who participated and we hope to see you next time!
On Sunday, Oct.5, the Freeman Asian Scholars gathered in front of the Olin Library to prepare for a short trip to Wadsworth Falls, a state park located near campus.
After a half an hour walk in the lovely autumn weather, we arrived at the park!
A shout-out thank you to Mika and Krid for bringing the essential items for a good event: food.
We had a great time talking to each other and enjoying nature. Thank you all so much for coming to the event and stay tuned for the next one!
Every semester, we Freeman Asian Scholars have held our potluck to welcome the new arrivals, and to see the faces we have missed over the summer. This year’s potluck has been particularly exciting, as it turns out that the Freeman Class of 2018 are excellent chefs!
Then we got down to business.
Thank you for the great spring!

This year FASA came up with a fresh idea of letting all scholars to vote for social events to be held over the spring semester. Each member is entitled to rank top three preferences among six possible options.
To make the most out of Winter Olympics season, it is only right for FASA to hold an ice skating event as its first social event of the semester!

Freeman scholars gathered at the Spurrier-Snyder Hockey Rink, Freeman Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon, Feb 22, 2014. Some of us showcased their hidden ice skating talent and some spent the fun time learning how to skate for the first time.
